Meet CYC’s 2026–2027 Board of Directors

Carolina Youth Coalition is proud to announce its 2026–2027 Board of Directors, bringing together a new leadership team, returning members, and three new voices committed to CYC’s mission.

Leading the board this year are:

Treasurer: Austin Lowrey
Secretary: Molly Shaw

Together, these leaders will help guide CYC’s continued growth and strengthen our work to support Fellows as they prepare for college, pursue academic success, and confidently navigate their paths to higher education.

We’re also honored that Kathryn Schanen Kissam, CYC’s Co-Founder and founding Chairwoman, will continue supporting the organization as a strategic advisor in the role of Founder Emeritus Director. Kathryn’s vision and dedication have been instrumental in shaping CYC, and we’re grateful to have her continued guidance in this next chapter.

The board is also growing with the addition of Leighton Fogan, Jennifer Hackett, and Troy Keen. Each brings valuable leadership experience, a strong connection to the Charlotte community, and a commitment to expanding opportunity for young people.

They join Malinda Gill, Mark Mealy, and Danielle Nisbet, who will continue their service on CYC’s board. Their knowledge of the organization and continued commitment provide an important foundation as the board welcomes new perspectives and prepares for the year ahead.
